"Cottage has a special meaning in our family...
beginning with the home that my grandfather built, "Sterling Cottage" which you can still visit a block from the boardwalk near the Jersey shore.
A front porch, now screened, caught salty breezes in the late afternoon and there were rockers and a couch one couldn't help but nap on. Space, well planned and lived in...every inch of it!
This was my father's home, the place he left with a heavy heart when he enlisted in the Army during World War II and the haven he returned to with his new bride. Each morning, my grandfather raised the American flag on the flagpole in the side garden, where it still stands.
Dear cousins have cared for and maintained Sterling Cottage, lovingly, tenderly in tribute to those who built and raised a family with a sense of grace and comfort. So, cottage is uniquely a part of our heritage and we bring you the updated version, yet still fresh, stylish and comfortable, then as now.
